Hamish Murphy, started his career with a chemistry degree from Victoria University and in his humble beginings began selling coffee and hot dogs outside the Wellington Railway Station During the 90s. He plied his trade for several years and bought Baxters Catering in 2003. He seized the opportunity, and launched himself into a successful managing role in the food and hospitality sector which has now exceeded two decades.
Since 2003 Hamish and his wife Kim have grown Baxters Catering, acquiring additional food caravans, and growing their food offerings. Today the business is well recognised in this sector, with a high reputation for quality, generous portions, and good service.
Baxters are a family run business, with a passion for food and hospitality. We have been serving the community for over 20 years, and we are proud to be a part of it.
Hamish's son, Keith, has since taken over as Managing Director of Baxters Catering, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business.
Baxters can contract up to 60 casual staff during the busy summer season or for one off large events so they run quite a big operation. Each catering job has an on the ground manager, who ensures that the site runs smoothly. Our experienced staff ensure that the food served is top notch and high quality.
